Four tools everyone in the recruiting industry should use

With the advent of new tools and technologies, the recruiting process is becoming faster and more efficient than ever before. Here’s a list of four tools we think have the potential to change the way today’s recruiters and HR personnel work.

1. Applicant tracking system (ATS)
A must-have in any modern recruiters’ armory, the new generation of ATSs can bring many recruitment functions under one roof to speed up the hiring process while minimizing the risk of accidental data deletion or email burnout. Additionally, applicant tracking systems help recruiters and HR personnel steer clear of cumbersome paperwork when it comes to sorting and shortlisting resumes, scheduling interviews and initiating follow-up communications with prospective candidates. Some of the advanced versions of the software contain features such as keyword search, color coding, and object distribution, along with real-time analytics that enable employers to match exact skills and track the channels that produce desired results.

2. Email tracking tools
Since email campaigns are widely used nowadays in the recruitment industry, it makes sense to have smart tracking tools for obtaining key insights into how the target audience engages with call-to-action messages. Metrics such as open rates, unsubscribe rates, and click-through ratio provide important information on how B2C email marketing campaigns should be set up and run.

3. Social media management tool
Social media has significantly broadened the horizon of recruiting, allowing hiring managers to find and contact passive candidates who may be frequent on LinkedIn or Facebook despite not looking for a change. Internal career pages are generally a part of the main website of a company. While it’s great to have prospective candidates apply for open positions through the company’s own job listing page, it does no harm to simultaneously advertise openings on high-traffic job boards as well. Doing so will ensure maximum visibility of the job postings, which, in turn, will help find candidates faster.
